Hello, I'm Maria
I work as a project manager. I am a parent. An expat living in Madrid, Spain.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter in my life abroad.
How It Began
Moving to Spain wasn't in the long-range plan. As with many expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were intense — unfamiliar systems, routines, and expectations. Daily chores seemed more complicated than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Period
The Adjustment Phase
There was culture shock, doubt, and plenty of hands-on learning. Yet gradually, routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began crafting something that felt steady.
Why I Created WarmBrookThread
Most online guidance was either corporate relocation advice or shallow tourism content. What was lacking was genuine, everyday family insight.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Spain.
What This Site Stands For (And Declares It Does Not)
This site is:
- Hands-on insights from living in Spain
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever real changes occur
This site is not:
- An official tourism authority resource
- A sponsored-review site
- An ordinary travel blog
Moving Forward
Our stay in Spain goes on, and the learning journey continues. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll continue recording what we learn.
If you have any questions about family life in Madrid or anywhere in Spain, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Maria
